Microsoft is continuing its transition from the traditional Control Panel to a more streamlined Windows 11 interface. A forthcoming update will introduce a new settings page named "Advanced," which is set to enhance functionality for developers while also appealing to general users.
This update won’t radically alter the user interface but will rebrand the existing "For developers" section, adding new features that were previously scattered across different parts of the OS. Currently, these features can be viewed in the Windows Server 26403 build, although the Advanced page is not yet available by default. Activating it requires looking into internal system identifiers.
Moreover, this move is part of a broader effort by Microsoft to modernize the Windows experience by transferring some keyboard settings from the old Control Panel to the updated Settings section, mitigating reliance on legacy components.
The addition of the Advanced section marks a significant step toward simplifying access to advanced features for users. Despite this modernization, many still show a preference for the familiar Control Panel layout.
