The February 2025 security patch for Windows Server 2022, known as KB5051979, has been released with several important updates. This patch addresses issues introduced by last month’s update which affected DAC and USB devices, preventing them from functioning correctly and causing error code 10 in Device Manager. Not only did DAC devices with USB 1.0 input stop working, but the system also failed to recognize attached camera devices.
In addition to the fixes, Microsoft has provided direct download links for the update, making it simpler for system administrators to access the patch. The KB5051979 update updates the system to Windows Server 2022 Build 20348.3207 and corrects a memory leak issue related to predictive input ideas. It also resolves a problem with the Device Health Attestation service that hindered upgrades from Windows Server 2016.
However, lingering issues from the January update still persist, including errors associated with the System Guard Runtime Monitor Broker Service, which Microsoft confirmed to be harmless. The January update has also caused complications for systems using OpenSSH and Citrix, which are included in KB5051979.
Furthermore, the Windows 10 consumer edition received some of the same fixes through the KB5051974 update. Users experiencing unwanted installations of the Outlook app after applying the Windows Server update can modify their Windows Registry to block the installation.
In addition to this update, Microsoft has also rolled out cumulative updates for Windows 11, providing solutions for various issues across multiple platforms.
